St. Luke's Union was formed as a chapel of St. Luke's, Roselle. The first service
was held in 1873 in a one-room schoolhouse built on the existing property in the
1830's. Over the years several adjacent properties were purchased and the Rectory was built.
In 1951 the old Church building was demolished and the present church was built.
St. Luke's is believed to be the second oldest congregation in Union.
The picture is from a painting of the old church that hangs in the Narthex of the new church
as a reminder of our heritage.
